Ecological considerations, but above all rapidly increasing energy costs, are forcing more and more consumers to look for modern and efficient heating solutions. The energy saving ordinance, known by the acronym EnEV, requires in particular tenants and building owners to use less energy in the future construction of a new property and to sustainably isolate heat losses. While measures in the field of thermal insulation are generally the same everywhere, when it comes to the operation of a heater there are several options. Of course, models that rely on renewable energy are particularly popular.
Gas condensing boiler including solar saving
With a modern gas condensing boiler you can save a lot financially. Compared to an obsolete boiler system, it saves up to 30% energy. Using a gas condensing boiler in combination with a solar system is even more efficient. This reduces energy consumption in the hot water preparation sector by up to 60%. Systems with a control function ensure more effective interaction when both elements are combined. Here you can save an additional 15% on hot water preparation.
When supporting heating, the calorific value of the gas in combination with the sun ensures optimal results in terms of energy savings. With this combination, 35% lower energy costs are a real value worth seeing. Our product partner Buderus offers a 5-year guarantee on the integrated gas stove.
Ground source heat pumps use geothermal processes
Alternatively, there is the geothermal heat pump, which exploits geothermal processes in particular. Starting from the knowledge that temperatures towards the center of the earth are increasing, heat is converted into energy using these geothermal heat pumps. This type of energy production is increasingly in demand in Germany and boasts annual growth rates of around 14%.
There are now entire development areas that use geothermal heat pumps and thus cover all heating and cooling needs of buildings. Near-surface geothermal energy is a very sustainable way of producing energy because the heat and therefore energy present within the earth is available in sufficient quantities. The costs for such an investment are relatively high initially, but there are no additional costs such as installing a fireplace or storing and storing the fuel. The larger the building and the greater its energy needs, the greater the probability that the costs of geothermal heat pumps will be amortized.
In our case, with an assumed living area of 150 m², additional costs of around €11,000 must be expected, including deep holes and a second meter for the heat pump. Our product partner here is Vaillant GmbH.
Air-to-water heat pumps on the rise
The air-water heat pump is also very popular. It is based on the principle of capturing the heat present in the air and finally converting it into energy necessary for heating or hot water. It is considered one of the most intelligent forms of power generation and ensures trouble-free operation even at outside temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius. Compared to other heat pumps they are much cheaper to purchase and can mainly be installed outdoors. Although their efficiency decreases as the outside temperature drops, there is also a solution: either you use a heating element in the system and during this period it heats with discounted electricity (for this a second meter is installed and there are special electricity tariffs). Or you can combine the heat pump with a photovoltaic system and power the heating system with electricity from your production. The second counter in this case is omitted.
The additional costs (for a gas condensing boiler with solar) amount to around 4,000 euros for a 150 m² house. We are relying on a system with integrated cooling function from Rotex.
Of course, all heat pumps do not have a gas connection.
Whichever solution you choose, MARE Haus GmbH has the right solution for you. We will be happy to advise you in detail in advance which system is best suited to your construction needs.
