Wall material: all well insulated

Our homes have one massive bowl made of 24 cm thick aerated concrete. At MARE you will find thermal insulation where it belongs in terms of building physics: on the outside. It consists of a 10cm thick composite thermal insulation system made of EPS panels or alternatively a slightly more expensive mineral insulation. With this wall construction we achieve U values of up to 0.18 W/(m²K) – this value is even well below the Enev specifications!

We generally produce interior walls on the ground floor and, in the case of a two-story construction, on the upper floor using solid construction. The reason for choosing building materials is that they are easy to work with and unrivaled in price. Cellular concrete essentially consists of sand, lime and aluminum powder as a blowing agent: that’s how it is also a good decision from an ecological point of view.

Alternatives to our standard walls

Of course you are not bound to the version described above: if you want to do without additional thermal insulation, takes hold to a single shell variant. The insulation values of a 36.5 cm thick aerated concrete wall are not as good as those of an insulated wall, but still fall within the stringent Enev specifications.

Another option is to use Poroton bricks as wall material. The insulating effect of this material is created by the air chambers present in the stone. If desired, we can work with additional external or internal insulation.

Floor and ceiling: Made to match

At Mare we always look at the house as a whole: the We coordinate the insulation in the floor and roof area with the remaining walls accordingly. We use 120mm thick EPS insulation board on the ground floor. To save your cold feet, we install underfloor heating.

On the upper floor or in the attic only impact sound insulation is required: here a lower insulation thickness is sufficient. A Underfloor heating embedded in the cement screed it’s standard again. The insulation in the roof area consists of 200 mm thick fixing felt. Upon your request we can obviously also make changes to the thickness of the layer or the thermal conduction unit.

Truss and roof covering: maximum space upwards

The roof truss is made of solid structural wood. A special building material that is technically dried and makes chemical protection of the wood unnecessary. We tie most of our roof trusses conventionally, so that’s it even in a bungalow lots of space in the loft area.

When it comes to roofing we rely on the BRAAS brand. In the starting line we use a solid concrete tile, in the plus version it is an engobed clay tile. Of course, there are also other options: we will be happy to advise you without obligation on the different options.

Windows and doors: modern standards for insulation and security

Windows are the eyes of the house, but they do much more than let you see outside and let in light. The windows we install come from the manufacturer TMP Excellent thermal insulation values obviously. This is guaranteed by the new S 82 multi-camera profile and triple glass. At the same time, our windows are absolutely burglar-proof: in the Plus version we equip them with a “secure package”.

Our doors follow the same standards. A high quality Dr. Rooster triple hook lock and door hinges. To get exactly the look you want, you can choose from up to 50 templates.
